Are you experiencing the effects of loneliness and social isolation because of the Coronavirus?
Or, would you welcome the friendly voice of someone at the other end of the phone to help you practice your English conversation skills?
A group of volunteers from Manchester Refugee Support Network (MRSN) have come together and are here for you.
We would like to support clients of MRSN and our partner agencies to ensure that nobody is left isolated or without support. We don’t ask for anything in return, we just believe in being a friendly voice at the other end of the phone.
Our volunteers at MRSN and are known to us and we will interview interested new volunteers. Either way all volunteers will be required to complete an application form and agree to specific personal safety checks.
We are not experts on Coronavirus and can only offer help within reason. We will direct you to the government & public health websites. If you need medical advice, please use the NHS 111 online coronavirus service at 111.nhs.uk/covid-19, or if you have no internet access, call NHS 111 from your phone. In a medical emergency, dial 999.
