Working Groups
The Refugee and Migrant Forum hosts working groups linked to the themes of the Refugee Charter for Manchester. Working groups give refugees and asylum seekers the skills and opportunity to influence service provision and decision making. Currently Forum members are campaigning for the right to work to be reinstated to asylum seekers and against the threatened closure of several providers of legal advice in Greater Manchester. The Forum has also successfully negotiated with the UK Borders Agency (UKBA) for improvements to their local policy and practice.
