Asylum Support Service

The Asylum Support Service provides independent advice and guidance to assist asylum seekers in the Greater Manchester area move through and understand the asylum process. We help individuals, as well as families to get legal advice, accessing housing and financial support, accessing healthcare and education

We are registered with the Offices of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC),  Ref No:201900070 , and a number of our staff and volunteers are qualified to provide advice up to OISC Level 2 for asylum and up to Level 2 for immigration.

  • Applying for asylum support including accommodation
  • Asylum Support appeal
  • Notifying the Home Office if your circumstances change
  • Finding legal representation/ Find a solicitor.
  • Accessing healthcare
  • Accessing education
  • Obtain an ARC card
  • Apply for the Right to Work while waiting for your asylum claim
  • Support during the post-decision period
  • Other asylum and post-asylum claim related matters

We can advise on more complex asylum issues, and if we can’t help we can refer you to an organisation that can help you or we will provide you with a list of qualified legal representatives/solicitors.

What times are available each week?

  • Every Monday Drop in session 10am to 4pm – at 129 Princess Road, Moss side, M14 4RB – Attending a drop-in session does not require prior appointment and clients are seen on first come first serve basis.
  • Every Friday by appointments – at 141 Princess Road, Moss side, M14 4RE – To book an appointment/refer client please email or come to our drop-in service to explain what you need an appointment for.
