Expert by Experience Group

GREAT (Greater Manchester Refugees and Asylum Seekers Together) is our expert by experience forum.

The Greater Manchester Refugee Step Change Consortium is a pioneering initiative by a group of charities and Experts by Experience (EBE) to transform into a joined-up and collaborative ecosystem of support for refugees and people seeking asylum in Greater Manchester.

A small group of volunteers who have a lived refugee/asylum seeking experience work together to provide feedback to improve all services operating in Greater Manchester.

The goals are:

  1. to ensure services are fit for purpose, in an ever-changing landscape, so they can best meet the needs of people seeking refuge and asylum.
  2. to raise voice and campaign against rules and policies that negatively impact refugees and people seeking asylum.
